Like any fellowship Grace Baptist Church Bexleyheath has a history, the past is known, the present can be viewed on this website and the future is in the nail pierced hands of the LORD and Head of the Church, Jesus Christ. The subject of this page is our past and truly our meeting places have been tabernacles’ ‘tents that don’t last! We are in our third building, a plaque in the Broadway marking the spot where the first chapel stood from 1827 to it was knocked down in 1957. This was the first permanent place of worship in Bexleyheath and also has the distinction of having one of the Spurgeon family as a Pastor for a few years.
